Warranty has nothing to do with a recall.

Recalls are normally safety issues which the manufacturer are obliged to sort out on every car they sell (not necessarily imports though).

Yeah im sure thats solved the misfire issue, as well as the " engine working and not broken issue "

I might get lucky, it will pass the compression and a new spark / coil and im on my way..
Or a new head.. with valves.. .. and a piston... and erm.. a valve cover...

Who did the spark plug work ? Honda, independent or the guy who had it before ?

If it was Honda then they must be your first port of call as this has been a known issue in the past.

Honda realised there was a problem and increased the torque settings for the plugs form 13 to 18 lb/ft.

I'd bet my house that the cause is under torqued plugs.

I know you're joking, but be careful as over torquing can have the same effects.

Ill have a look for the scope when i get home. I would advise doing a leakdown test! this will give you a good idea if there's any slight damage to the rings.

been thinking about it and i would defo take the head off and more than likely drop the piston out to have a proper look... but that may just be me.
