My 'project'
Just had thefacelift front bumper fitted. I am very unhappy with the result. It looks like a much darker shade of silver and all I can do now is stare at it and it's all I can notice. The bodyshop says it's just because it's plastic BUT the old bumper wasn't this 'off'. Is there actually different paints on the early/late cars? I expect a slight difference but it just looks terrible to me. I am really, really hacked off about it. Mainly I am annoyed with myself. I should have just left it.
Its not that noticeable usually the body and bumper colour do have a slight colour differents because its metal ans plastic but not too bad.
But when I got my from facelift lip sprayed my garage did tell me (AS my one is a Moonrock Grey) there are about 4 - 5 different tone of Monnrock all varies slightly so maybe its just a different tone of silver.
But love your S2000 looking very good buddy keep it up

just had my moonrock painted and yes the first time they "test" painted it the shade was wrong..
so they sent my existing wing to the colour shop to match the paint properly and the colour match is spot on now
paint codes are good when you don't have to match with other panels.
Old panels tend to fade so its always difficult to get right. Bonnets are the worst to match with.
So always best to match colour with the nearest panel to the one your painting.

Paint can come out different shades depending on; the paint mix, how it was sprayed, type of spray gun, pressure it was painted at and lots more.
thats why it would usually be blended into the other panels to ensure that it is a seamless blend.

Well I'm nit really sure what to do. I could ask them to do it again and get the colour right but frankly they just might not be up to the job. Seems very annoying as I have wasted a lot of money getting this stupid bumper fitted now. To make things worse the guy is brother of a friend of ours so I don't feel I can rely on my usual lack of tact and being forceful
Bigbramble - Car looks good with what you've done to it though
