I can't remember the exact route, but the E40 is the main road you want to follow. I cheated and followed someone who'd been before.

Hiya
Dunno about the best route from the Channel ports into Belgium, but our route uses the E40 (IIRC) past Charleroi, Leige and Aachen, then follow Kohn for a bit once into Germany, then the main autobahn for Koblenz. There are two routes to the Ring - one is a PITA but turns off the autobahn earlier, but the one you want is junction 33. It is signposted for the Ring and you really can't get lost.
If you haven't got a hotel sorted out and you're after a place with stunning views, huge breakfasts and an English speaking (but very gay) landlord, then the Berghotel Hohe Acht is hard to beat. Telephone Frank on 00492691471 or email at hohe-acht@gmx.de. Its about
