Name That Rattle
Hi all,
Got a bit of a rattle coming from my engine at idle. Having had a look around the forums I'm guessing it could be the TCT, but figured someone here may be able to help diagnose it before I get it booked into the garage!
Also if anyone has any recommendations for somewhere to get it looked at around South West London (SW19) or beyond, would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

It doesn't sound like the TCT to me but I had a very similar sounding rattle when the bonnet catch was loose. Try pushing down on the front of the bonnet where the catch is - if the rattle goes away then you need to adjust the catch.
I had a very similar rattle recently. (The TCT had been refurbed), My S2K guru, Ray (daytonadave) suggested it could an idler pulley bearing.
I changed both for less then £9 and it sorted it.
Easy check! slip the serpentine belt off and spin the pulleys. If there is a tick or slight intermittent resistance or the pulley has to much side play, change the bearings.
