Default Need help REAL quick

Change the rear brake pads ... at work... at lunch time ... with somewhere to BE at 3 pm! Had to as the pads where down to the back plate !

Any way how to i get the piston to go back in the the caliper? its so push out and i cant get it to move back ?

??!!?

you have to screw the piston back in, if you look at the piston face it has a cross on it you screw it in clockwise to put it back in the caliper. make sure that one of the slots lines up with the small pip on the back of the pad. When its all back together pump the brakes hard a few times to adjust them.

I have just done mine and they are hard to screw back in.

I bought the tool, and it still took a big adjustable spanner on the end of it to get enough force to push it back in. You're not going to do it by hand.

I used to use the flat egde of a bastard file in the FIATS.

Plenty of torque!

the flat ended lever you get in the tool kit is suitable to give you plenty of leverage. Put the screwdriver type end of lever in one half of the piston slot and that should give you enough leverage to turn the piston. If it still won't turn, try working it backwards and forwards to free it up.

done... first took over an hour second one done in 25 mins !

Found a bit of scrap iron that fitted the piston and was p1ss easy after that .. thanks guys
