I'm almost certain that you need to be formally cautioned and charged as soon as they have the evidence to do so; in your case it should have been when you were stopped.

You might find some information of interest here

Hope this is of some help

I think certain people on here register random usernames, and use them months later for trolling purposes...

Lol.
There used to be this bloke on here calling himself Dark Blue Mark,
but not seen him for a while. Maybe he's doing some bird?

As far as NIPs are concerned you could be prosecuted up to six months after the date of the offence. That's a very unpleasant wait.

Can I just get this straight?

You were at traffic lights, on ice with a police car behind you so what you did was slid the rear end out.......... and now you wonder why he is pissed and threatening you?

Is that your point?

i think he's saying the rear end slide out on its own tbh - i doubt anyone here would purposefully throw the back end out in this weather.... especially in front of police...

and to the op - yup mate im feeling your pain - as per my post the other night my back end went out just doing 20 - which ended up with me in a ditch

lucky you didnt do any damage though - im sure the bloke is just being a jumped up little door-handle tbh.. prob find he's just qualified to go on patrol car duty and is flexing his muscles a bit...

Well, I once had a stand-up row with one (he was obstructing the traffic whilst this was going on) because he tried to tell me some bullshit about right-of-way when he was obviously wrong.

Like I say, you get good ones, you get bad ones.

Bit like posters, I suppose!

IMO a freshly gritted road is just as - if not more - dangerous than an icy one.

You have no need to worry, other than an unnecessary trip to the plod to show your documents.
