Will this be available in the UK next year?? Its just that most Japanese manufacturers release models in Japan 6 to 12 months before they make it here. I.e RX8, 350Z, MK3 MR2 etc..

Did not read the entire article. but lets wait and see. The article did mention that the programme for this engine has not been made public. And it's honda's solution to the porshe boxster.

Typical Evo - the small article doesnt miss a chance to have a swipe at the s2k "Honda's slow selling roadster", "lack of torque" blah f*cking blah. Go tell someone who cares Evo.

look on the positive side maverick. Honda would not be producing a 2.2 egine if the entire world was happy with the s2k.

I definately think that the mods to the 2000 models would not have been implemented without negative feedback from the critics.

So the critics are helping the development of all cars on the market.

I say give the s2k stick if honda is going to improve the design and sell the car at the same cost

rich.

"Honda's slow selling roadster"

Can Honda deal with more demand without moving production / automating production ? I think that they can either stick to their current production level and satisfy demand, or make the new vehicle more mainstream and attempt to capture the roadster market (as a performance MX-5).

I agree Ricardo - constructive critiscim has its place in driving the redesign / continual improvement of vehicles. But I hardly ever see the S2000 appraised in that way, especially in Evo magazine. Personally I dont think the S2000 lacks torque for example, however this is another argument, my point was that if you read the little snippet in Evo its structured in a very negative way as is always the case. Snippets about other cars never begin :

"Yesterdays fashion accessory, the Audi TT"

"Porsche's unspeakably hideous looking Off-Roader, the Cayenne"

"the seriously impractical Caterham R400".

What would be the point ?, and yet the S2k seems to make Evo writers hackles rise. I am confounded, considering Ive driven some pretty special metal in my time, and I think the S2000 is right up there with most of it. Hey Ho - if it helps to keep the car rare then fine I guess.
