Question New Battery

Hi chaps

You may remember that my battery kept having 'moments' a few weeks ago.

I wondered if it was dodgy wiring on the stereo i'd had installed but doubted it seeing as the car has had the stereo installed for quite a few months without problems.

Anyhoo, after taking out the audio fuse, the battery still died quite spectacularly which leaves me needing a new battery.

My question is - the car is only 14 months old. Are batteries covered under warranty?

If not covered under warranty, how much am I looking at for a new battery?

Thanks

14 months, that's very short lived. My battery died enough not to start the car after 3 weeks when about 2 years old, so I bought a CTEX XS3600 - been using that if car is left for more than a few days. Battery has been fine ever since.

I have taken the battery off and completely re-charged it.

Used it for a 20 minute drive to work and then tried to start it to go home and the battery was dead as a dodo

So i'm guessing it's the battery rather than the alternator.

Just booking it into Brayley Honda now - they have said that they sometimes replace batteries under warranty so wish me luck!

Poor car

you need to test it and see if its taking / holding charge well enough - worst comes to worst call the AA / Rac etc when its next flat and they will get it started and run a test on it for you , if you have a multimeter its poss to do a test yourself - not that i can remmeber how to....

Dawn, take it to the local specialist (yellow pages) or halfords if you must and get them to load test it.
You 'could' have a charging problem - alternator or cabling.
