Right so I bought a new genuine Honda battery from Hendy as I thought this would solve my alarm problem as people said they can act funny with a duff battery, the problem is when locking the car the indicators do not flash nor does the alarm activate.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Mine only flashes the indicators when I use the immobiliser fob. Normal unlock and lock doesn't create any flashing.

If your using the lock / unlock / boot fob then this doesn't active the alarm, fair sure the engine immobiliser (2button) fob arms the alarm.

LG normally can shed light for these issues.

 

Did you try the bonnet catch sensor? If it's broken then the system thinks the bonnet is still open and won't turn on the alarm until it closes.

 

Mine is the 3 button fob it usually flashes the indicators after one push of the lock button, I haven't checked the bonnet catch if I'm honest but they'll be the next thing on my list, is it an easy change?

 

Yeah facelift alarms are different to the prefacelift.

It's pretty easy. It's just a few bolts, the plug and the release cable. When installing it took me a couple goes to get the bonnet to sit where I wanted it, but you just have to shift the latch up and down until you're happy.

There is a way to test if it's working, but it was my friend who did that for me and I would have no clue what to do.

 

If it's the bonnet catch sensor that did what mine did ( came totally adrift ) then it wil be floating around in the catch. I ended up replacing the catch and rewiring the switch to a new location ( and a new switch ) as the old switch was farked.

 

Easiest way to test the bonnet pin switch is to just unplug the loom. Connector is on the right side of the bonnet catch as you look at it.
You can then quickly test the alarm with the bonnet open.

 

^^I think that is actually how I tested it. I think my friend checked the loom was working, which just needs a multimeter.

 

Thanks guys, I unplugged the sensor for the bonnet catch and all is good, looks like I'll be needing to get one ordered then
