There's obviously a big difference between UK and US owners that I can see here. The US owners seem to be pro-rice whilst the UK owners are far more conservative.

I think it looks .

Nothing wrong with neons . You're right about the US, they all seem keen on this sort of thing but us brits have always been known to be stuffy
