what are the grounds for replacing the clutch and flywheel with something after market? reduced weight, increased power, clutch unable to cope with standing starts?

it and buy the Spoon
No logic for this decision. It makes the clutch heavier apparently. But my car does bog down a bit sometimes when driven hard and from what I have read the flywheel is the root cause.

I reckon the TODA flywheel with Honda clutch sounds good, at least the dealer is looking after your car by pushing it in at night and has the clutch on order already.

Clutch has lasted me 7k since it was replaced, it is a total mangled wreck.
Aftermarket clutches lessen transmission losses as they 'bite' better, might last longer due to better materials, and are surprisingly cheaper ?!!?
Flywheel, less weight which improves throttle response, 2/3 of the price.

Dealer very helpful, as I now have a Citroen Xsara Picasso, why don't Citroen poach some of Honda's gearbox people, they certainly could do with it. Can't beleive the WRC car can have a box this bad !!

has to be spoon all the way with me, they may re badge half of the stuff they sell but it seems good gear all the same, if your going to do it you might as well only do it the once and the car needs it so no choice for me, if i was in the same boat i would change the lot.

If Honda's flywheel is pants, why did Mr Honda use it and not a lighter one?
I don't understand all this suping up, if you want more power, get a more powerful car???
Must have turned into an old fart since me new purchase!
