Default New Hood Rubbing Troubles?

Hey guys!

I had my new Monsoon hood fitted a while ago now (6 weeks ish) but in the last few weeks Ive noticed that the hood seems to be rubbing on itself when the hood is down causing a the material to go shiny. Im worried that if it continues to rub there will be a hole there soon!

Has anyone else had this problem or knows how to solve the two parts rubbing?

I have Emailed Monsoon and I am awaiting reply. Im sure these guys will help as I was very impressed when they fitted it. Im just worried the hood is getting damaged. Its already marked and I cannot get rid of them

Mine had these marks at first...I treated the hood with Autoglym conditioner and they have stayed away.

However, it is possible that the elastics need looking at, or the material is a little tight on the frame.

If possible, phone Tony, he gets alot of emails

Mine is bad too.. the rubbing is in a smaller area and therefore more severe in that one place, but less obvious across the hood.

Monsoon have noted that i have let them know and the warranty stands for two years. They say one has never worn through (so far). I am keeping a close eye on it

Its just annoying as the marks are really visible on the car.I have no doubt that the Monsoon guys will sort it if something is wrong. I just hope I can get rid of the marks as it looks kinda bad.

Is there any chance you guys could post up some photos of yours? Are they the same as mine? Kinda shiny like when you burn your shirt a little with an iron?

What Autoglym did you use loftus? Is it Hood Conditioner?

Cheers guys for your help!

I used 'Autoglym Fabric Hood Protector'.

It's great stuff...you can chuck a large bucket of water over the hood, and ALL of it runs off

I would post some photos of mine, but it disappeared after conditioning the hood

That looks just like mine mate. If you catch it from some angles they look shiny yes?

Cheers loftus! Im just off to Halfrauds to buy some of this Autoglym stuff your talking about! Fingers crossed it gets rid.

Ill let you know my results! For now Im using a pair of socks in between these two bars when the roof is down!

P.S - I have the same cat problem!

Well I bought the conditioner but the marks are still there unfortunately

I suppose its made them slightly smaller but they are definately not gone. If you look close it really is like the fabric has been burnt. Not sure what to do to get them out really!
