Welcome aboard, sir, it's great how many people are getting into S2000s and joining up here, me included! I used to have a Celica 190 too, I have to say I loved that car like a child. Not quite as bonkers an engine as the S2000 but it gave an extra dimension to an otherwise very refined coupe. When you see the prices of even good ones today, I really think for the money there aren't many better cars out there - good winter car for when the S2000s tucked up in the garage, perhaps...?

I had the 140 Celica. Underpowered...

You're exactly right about the surge though. Brings a huge smile to my face everytime

I did consider maybe keeping the Celica SORN'd for the Winter, but then i would temporary insurance and thats a nightmare to get for modified cars it seems. It is a great car and honestly i can not think of any other car in it class/type that beats it. Its practical (back seats go down, i've had a cooker in that thing!), fast enough (the 140 was ok, but 190 is alot better with its Yamaha 2ZZGE), cheap enough tax and decent fuel economy. Things like Integras, 350Z are either high insurance or high tax. And again for the money, you are getting ALOT of car. You can pick up a decent enough 190 for 2k now!

The S2000 of course is a different type of car, but i love it already. I think i need to get new tyres all round, after some searching it seems the standard RE050A or Goodyear Asymmetric 2, or Yoko AD08...but the latter two seem quite expensive!

Already lined up a few mini mods to start with; including a new stereo, headrest speakers (if i can find a set), leather armrest cover (original is slightly worn), mugen gearknob.etc and some S2K Tuning or Mutz mats i think to protect the carpet
