Default New owner - scrapes under front bumper

So I finally found what I had been looking for. I found an 05 moonrock GT with black and red leather at a dealer. 8800 miles, 2 previous owners (one being Honda as ex-demo), was in mint condition*, better than any others that I had seen and at a very competitive price.

So I picked her up on Saturday, drove the 45 miles back home and in the process managing to use the third of the tank of fuel the dealer afforded me, having not really pushed her hard at all (most time was spent crawling through traffic in the east end). My two local Shell garages appear to be closed due to refurbs so by the time I pull into my parking space, the fuel light comes on. Think I must have fallen victim of the inaccurate fuel light, as when I next started her up, there were 3 bars left. Ho-hum.

Anyhow, onto the point of my post, and that is I have managed to obtain a scrape across the underside of the front bumper due to the ramp that leads up to the car park in the block being, not steep, but on enough of an incline that the bottom catches. At first I thought (and hoped ) it might be the mud flaps, but alas, no.

I currently reverse out of the gate on exit and drive up on entering, as this avoided scraping the front of my previous car (MR2 mk2), but the S2000 must be that little lower and catches. There is another S2 that parks in my residence (an MY01) and that too has suffered the same scrapes.

Natuarally after owning the car for 2 days, im a bit gutted and annoyed that Ive put this scrape in, albeit highly unavoidable. Just wondering how commonplace this scrape is and whether I'm worrying over nothing. But I'm a perfectionist and these things bother me.

On a lighter note, hopefully I will be attending meets soon, once I get used to the car and have a free weekend.

Hopefully this is the start of many happy years of ownership

How about drilling some 6mm holes where it scrapes and fitting some
stainless steel panhead screws there, sort of F1 style, seriously though.

Mine was shredded a week after I had a new bumper fitted due to a minor shunt.

It's not visible so I don't really care to be honest. Although I was a bit annoyed for about 5 minutes when it happened

Hi,

Mine's colour-coded, so the gouges from variously; track day offs, my drive, road tits, etc don't notice.
