A decent intake is good bang for the buck, like AEM V2 CAI
If you want some real increase in power a piggy back ECU is the best bet. Get the Apexi Vtec controller; tuned properly on a rolling road you

Have a read of the WRC dyno day before you spend any money.

it seems silly that you have to reset the ecu once a month! the ecu is self learning and the vafc is a piggy back system. i thought the whole point of the vafc is to override the standard ecu.

YOu need to go to the dyno to fine tunnig a VAFC, road tunnig is not enough. 15 hp using a VAFC is to much, and remeber that our ECU is self-learning, so you have to rest the ECU once a month. and rest it before startingto tune, so it would cancel the VAFC settings when the time pass
Hi

I said rolling road which is the same as Dyno in the UK

Also I was very happy with my 15BHP increase in power when I tuned my Vtec controller on the Dyno, the main thing was the improvement in mid range and the lower Vtec crossover as the main benefit on my S2000

I'm not sure you do lose any gains over time, this subject has been debated many times in 'under the section' and after reading everything I could, I came to understanding you didn't lose any gains over time. This was in 2003 so it could be different now as more people understand the ECU operation.

VAFC modifies the ecu values adding or subtracting the value that the ECU send to the engine. Since the Ecu registers what all the sensor said.

if the ECU send a value i.e 6 and the VAFC is set to add 2 the signal to the injectors is 8, but happen if the VAFC send a 5 insted of 6? the injectors would get a 7 (5+2).

VAFC and Emange is a piggybay not a Computer like AEM, Motec
