need new tyres on front and back 16in whots the best for wet and dry and will i get more grip if a change to 17in

Having just deciphered your post, () I would say that most agree that 16" are very good for performance, but 17" are a good upgrade. More tyre contact will give you more grip, but a bit less cushioning from the reduced profile.
