Hi I have registered to this forum as I am in the process of fitting the engine from an S2000 into a Ford Escort Mk2. Are there any other members who have made this conversion? What do the owners of the cars feel about this swap? I chose to use this engine over any others as I believe it will give excellent reliability as well as huge power. If I had a huge budget I could have used a BDA engine as used by the works Escorts in rallying back in the 70's. They are also all alloy 16v 2 litres, will give 270bhp at 9-10,000 rpm are hopelessly unreliable and uneconomical. I'm hoping for better from my Honda.

Hi, have a work collegue who is exploring a similar idea.
You may find the gearing a bit tall in first especially if you are doing tarmac stages. Not to say you have to use the honda box however....

This conversion has been done a few times and there are several mk2s about with the Honda F20C lump.

They dont come cheap however, at about 6k for the engine and box.
Fitting individual throttle bodies may realise some more torqe, but its lack of low down torqe that may be the real issue for you.#

Whats wrong with a Vauxhall lump?
