Hey
I've had my heart set on an S2000 for a while and i'm now in a position to buy one.
I've read your FAQ guide and was wondering if there was a way to tell if the bushes were seized on an inspection or test drive?
I was also hoping that someone could recommend somewhere in Northern Ireland that specialises in servicing & upgrading S2000's especially the geo set ups.
This is the car I was considering getting...

thanks in advance for any help and advice

Hi there and welcome.
If the bushes are Honda OEM ones, then there is very little you can do to check them, other than get the car on a ramp and try remove the pins.
If they have been replaced with say Polybushes, you'll notice that the bushes are a very odd colour (OEM are black, Polys are normally Red or Purple. It's not a given that they will be free, but it's the best thing I can think of to look for.
...that, ro reciepts that say the car has been for a geo check / adjustment (although that's nto always true).
Have a look in the thread below, and it will show the colours and positions you will be lookign for...
Polybushes
Good luck with buying!!

Hi there "Decibel",
Local owner here. The car for sale is just 2 or 3 mile down the road from where I live (recognised the road etc etc). Looks a nice example. Just do teh usual sight tests taht we all do. As for the geo, taking it a spin if you know these cars can give you an idea. Ultimately you'll need a ramp and the right equipment to know what the settings are and if any bolts are seized.
Mine was got new, and had a geo set up done at Magowans earlier on this year. Was well enough impressed how the car handled after, and no seized bolts.......yet!
Whereabouts are you in the "Province"? Theres a few of us owners over here nowadays and a good bunch for the odd weekend/road trip.

Meant to say, hit the "Honda S2000 owners-Ireland" page on FB. Some of us know more than others but all are helpful and should help you with any queries you have locally.
As regards geo, the first thing to check with the car you are viewing is a basic one.....the tyres! Its the first part of your suspension, and the correct ones for the car make a difference. (from the pics they look Bassets Allsorts!)

Thanks for getting back to me everyone
i've told the trader that i'll take the car on two conditions,
1. that the suspension is fine and he agrees to either fix or take the car back if it isn't.
2. That he budges on the price as i've seen "GT" editions on the net for cheaper and they come with a hard top, although i'm aware that cars in Belfast cost more than in England
I live in Ballysillan, i'll definitely check out the "Irish" thread, would love to get into the car culture over here
