It is worth pointing out that the FAQ is indeed excellent, I have read it from start to finish and continue to refer back to it each time I think of it.

And that's coming from someone who's had 2 S2000's now!

However, in my opinion, if someone wants to ask something, let them ask it!

I have to agree with the let them ask policy. Even if it is the same question things could of happened since to make the answers slightly different. I had a barny with someone on boxa net because i was new and the search tool was shite and felt like not bothering after that. So I say ask what you want.

I agree with Jenny -

P.S. Search smearch.... why search (and it IS cranky) when you have so many people who... [love answering questions if they can help] / [love the sound of their own voice]. [delete as appropriate]

The search is working, it is returning decent results. it has to look through over 1million posts remember

It is also being overhauld when v5 comes.

Let newbies ask questions, often the answers just point in the right direction

I must say I think people do get a friendly welcome here, certainly more than some other forums I know of

Totally agree there... in fact as newbies (me & the woman) its been great, very friendly, very helpful and not cliquey.

Certainly helped us to make our minds up to try & find a car

I've paid up & joined the forum today, and S2KUK as well, the woman will pay up for the forum tonight after swimming.

I can certainly say that the welcome has made that happen. Must also say that the post that started this topic was a shocker & if it had happened a week or so ago we would have most likely just dropped off & never come back. Maybe it was just badly worded & not meant the way it came across. Hope so.

We've had this debate before!

Talk about newbies, I'm only two days from getting my 5th Star. Will it come in the post or will I have to collect it?

Nobody has asked that one before!

Can't you do a search or read the FAQ or something?

What's wrong with asking questions anyway? The knowledge is not ours to own but to pass onto those in the same way it was passed to us.

Oh and CTR, I see the alien uses a slow coloured gun, no wonder they failed to collonise the planet successfully.
