Maybe they've left a connector unplugged.

It could be something silly though like both bulbs have blown, have you checked them and are the number plate lights working?

Number plate working, would be odd that they had both blown, am thinking something not connected properly, just don't know what to check

Id take the covers off in the boot, and have a look to see if the connectors are connected to the light clusters. If not, then swap bulbs to see if its them, if its neither of them then Id say it could be an electrical problem. Maybe linked to it being worked on or just a coincidence.

Yeah as mentioned very simple to check, boot lining behind the lights are easy to remove, just pull them back and look for anything unplugged.

Where are you based? I can have a quick look if you're close

Carrie - just peel back the carpet trim from behind the lights - will be instantly obvious if they're not connected up

Some quick checks

Reverse lights?
Hazards?
Indicators?
Foglight?

Or are they ALL out.

All out can't be lamps / bulbs - that'd be dead unlucky - smacks of something not connected or a fuse blown. Taking it back is the right thing to do i think

From the first post the brake lights are working.

Have you checked the tail light bulbs yet?
