Is it because it's so quick and easy to put the roof down on the S2000 that we do it?

No faffing about getting in and out of the car.

unless it's friggin cold or I am driving through somewhere 'dodgy' which isn't often the roof is off

I bought a convertible to get the roof off whenever possible. It's the perfect tonic to a day stuck in the office

Mind you it helps that people don't have a propensity to gob at you......something which Boxster drivers are probably used to by now

You want to try it on a newish shape Alfa Spider. Electric roof, but velcro, switches, in gear, out of gear, ignition on and off. Took us 20 minutes to work it all out. Only tried it once and luckily the car wasn't mine

Yep - a mate of mine has a newish Alfa Spider - putting the roof up/down is a real art as his is manual (not electric).

Didn't really see the point in the electric roof when you had to get out the car to operate it

Is there no internationally recognised handsign to convey the above words?

And if not, can we invent one?

Even in Scotland, where dry days are like hens teeth, you would think people would drop the roof whenever possible - but alas, no - numpties abound north of the border also

I've had my S for just over a month now - To start with I got comments at work that I'd put the kiss of death on the summer, but as you'll all be aware the weather over the last month has been fantastic - Since I've had it I've only driven home from work with the top up twice.

However - I've discovered an unusual peril of Top Down motoring that I didn't pick up from lurking on this board before I got the car.

Although sunny, it's not always been warm and so I've always been wearing a jacket in the car - Now my hands are completely tanned while my arms remain their natural shade of MCB

Perhaps this could become the international symbol of hard-core top down freaks - Body parts of different shades......

Rich...
