Thanks Mikey.

The S2000 does have fairly unusual requirements. The hubs are fairly wide in the fenders so it requires quite large offsets. And as the offsets are large you don't get that 'dish' effect so many ricers love.

There are quite a few wheels that will fit the S these days butthey are mostly the pricier ones. The Work Meister S2Rs I have fit beautifully. The rears are 9" wide but have a 60mm offset. Another wheel made specifically for the S and of very high quality is the Bridgestone Prodrive GC-07. They are actually made by Rays who are a top wheel maker in Japan.

Obviously rubbing is bad but I presume different offsets also affect the handling in different ways? So a wheel may physically fit under the arch but still create interesting handling issues?
It affect stability under braking, tramlining & 4WS breakaway characteristics.

What the fashion victims tend to forget is that the centre line of the wheel relative to the kingpin centreline is important. It's what gives the car negative offset steering geometry.

That is why the Mugen's offsets are very close to factory and the spokes are heavily backset to clear the brake calipers.

Yer Wolfraces are generally made for cheapness.

As a rule of thumb, any more than 10mm off spec is likely to create problems and teh close the better.

Having said that, most of the bling merchants drive slowly so they may be seen and the car's dynamics are not an issue.

Listen to Mikey K - he's was happiest with his optimised wheels!

This question comes up so often, it should be on a sticky!

It might be buried somewhere, but it ain't on the FAQing list!

Also, I don't think noobs are gonna instinctively know to trove out a PL first post, in order to find the link in his signature!

Otherwise, I take your point

Yup, seed that afore.

And the dumb-ass Septics are obsessed with aligning the wheel to the arch line (or Fender Telecaster of whaever term they use) and don't even farking mention the wheel centreline!

Dipshits.
