I hate dealers too. Especially Chiswick Honda.

But I do love Crown Honda who really do take care of my S because they know full well that they can't pull the wool over my eyes. Plus Jorge is an excellent mechanic - he even wipes the chassis clean if he's left a greasy mark.

I hate Springfield dealers so much mine is booked in at Carlisle on Saturday. Which means I'm going to have to leave at 7am, drive 60 miles, sit around the dealers for 3 hours while they do the work and drive back. Let's hope Lloyds Honda make it worth the hassle ray:

Yeah, but he probably has a bath before working on your car, AB!

I don't think with that amount time, you can pinpoint blame on the dealer for this. If you only noticed it now, how can you be sure you didn't notice it before that service?

? how can I be sure I didnt notice it before the service???? eeer because i didnt notice it !

AE it went in for a clutch replacement last year, they would have had it all out (droped down) so they would have had to undo that mount. So if they did put it back they didnt torque down hard enough and its come undone or they forgot to put it back all togther.
And if it was missing already when they did the clutch then they should (MUST!) have put it right then..

OK got that, but my point is, how do you place the blame on the dealer, when the last time they touched it was last year. I'm just putting myself in the dealers position and trying to reconcile in my own mind.

Sorry AE the last time they touched it was for a service 4 weeks ago.
The last time they Worked on it in a way which might have disturbed that area was last year.

But OK so how does something like this just come loose if had been torqued to the right level?

Remember if we presume that it was not forgoten then it will have had to not only come loose but also undo itself all the way UP the thread and fall off.... i dont think so.

I don't know the answers - I'm just asking the same questions that a dealer might
