Oil cooler time?

Oil cooler time?
I just did a trackday last Friday and it was hitting over 120 degrees after 3 fast laps, it hit 126.2 after 4. The day wasn't hot at all, probably stayed around 6-9 degrees all day. Measured from a Spa dual guage with the sensor mounted in a sandwich plate and running Castrol Edge TD 5w40. Just wondering would an oil cooler enable me to get 4/5 fast laps without having to worry?
I actually already have a second hand 10/12 row Greddy cooler at home but hadn't bothered fitting it because my oil temps i thought weren't that high (i think 118 was the max i hit before).

I have a Defi one installed, just need to get the 60mm SoS A pillar guage pod. I'm not sure the 52mm one i have can be cut to fit them? I also have a Toda exhaust manifold installed now, i guess that may increase heat in the sensor since they're so close. I'll be wrapping that one of these days.

As MB has mentioned, see if re-locating makes any difference.
If you're still seeing these figures - It might be the oil breaking down at high temps.
Have you got any other kind of oil to use? If not, might be worth trying 5w40 Fuchs Titan Pro S or something with a good cSt.

Seems as if you guys are against oil coolers? Any reason why?
In regards to oil - I've always used Royal Purple 10W-40 for track. Swear by it and will never use anything else.
