I go for round ones. Have found that they generally work best.

Not another tyre thread!
Can't you figure out how the search works?
What sort of muppet can't find the info already posted?

By the way, when you up for a breakfast run?
In response to your first point, how dare you speak to me like that? As Al G rightly points out, I am a paid up member, whereas you are merely a guest! Know your humble and lowly place and show me the respect my status commands - I am your lord and master and you shall bow before me!!!

Mods - please could I ask that the author of this offensive and unprovoked outburst receives the most severe repremand that can be imposed?

To your second point, I'm away a lot over the next couple of weeks mate, so how about the end of the month - 30th maybe?

ps. thanks to everyone for the useful advice.

What don't you like about the Bridgestones? I guess the last thing you want to do is replace with another tyre that has similar characteristics.

It's mainly the poor wet weather grip.

I know this goes against the popular wisdom, but I can't help but feel the stiff side wall that most people consider a positive just makes them harsh and a bit dead. It just feels like a little bit of deflection might make the car a bit more chuckable. That said, the Bridgestones do feel good when you're holding high(ish) revs on long fast corners........

I got Hankook Ventus V12 EVO on mine now, they are softer than the Brudgestones, but they have an excellent amount of grip and were very reasonable.

On the US side if the forum there was a tire test done and they bested Michelin Pilot Sports even on track day use. I'd recommend them, I got mine from camskill.
Cool, would you say the Hankooks are better than the OEM Bridgestones?

For daily driving in the winter yes, the car has tons of grip no matter how cold it is. They are also much more compliant, but still don't feel too soft.

Can't say about in the summer, I liked the stiff bridgestones when it was warmer, will have to see. However for the price I'm very impressed, fronts were about £45.

Al G - I find that paying for something makes one lose one's sense of hunour. For example, whilst I was paying no income tax, I could laugh about it.
Now I can find nothing to laugh about.
Perhaps you should try it.

Fatbloke - You will probably need as hard a sidewall as possible, for the weight, you understand.
30th would be good for me, there's a great little cafe in Wickham, I think its open Sundays. I'll have to find a long way round though.

Can someone give him some good advise on tyres, as he needs all the help he can get, to keep up, you see.

I think I've got a great sense of "hunour" thanks matey!

Maybe the fact that I've never not payed income tax has taken its toll

Thanks for picking up on my typo, no-one else would have. It allows your obvious jovial nature to shine through.

Back on topic, Fatbloke, what tyres are you leaning towards?
