I'm looking at buying an 08, with 20,000 miles S2k. It all looks good but services at years 3 and 4 were done by an independent garage and says basic next to the stamp. I'm assuming that means oil change. It's due the 5yr service in the next few months. Should I be worried, is it a deal breaker? I know you guys go on about the importance of good service history. Thank you!

The thing with SH is, when you're buying you want FHSH but those who own them say oh the dealers are rubbish, I know a good lad at my local garage etc

At the end of the day if its had proper oil and filters it should be okay, esp at just 20k miles

At such low mileage I wouldn't worry about it personally. Get it to an S2000 specialist for the next one / the major one and you'll be fine.

i wouldnt want a car that had done a lot of miles without a service, at least an oil change. the other stuff can be rectified, things like coolant and MT fluid are not often needed, the diff warrants care though

suspension would not worry me but then i have patience and tools. i wouldnt touch a rusty one as per LGs comment, its expensive and recurs ime
