I would do a DIY sand and paint for as cheap as possible for now if it's vulnerable, it'd break your heart if you spend ££££££s then do a similar thing. then if you want to you can pay for a proper job later on

I had a close one on a jump once - not in my S, but I ended up cracking the gearbox casing!

It happens!

Lip is an option, otherwise, for where it is, DIY job with a Halfords tin.

It only has to look 'reasonable' as it's under the car

And front bumpers get battered with stonechips anyway.

Front lip would look good. You just have to be careful with it. Anyway, if you were going buy a lip and get it painted, it would cost you the same as getting the whole bumper repainted. The most affordable opinion; ignore it or try touch up paint to see whether it bothers you.

Thanks for all the useful feedback lads. Once again, a great response from the forum

At the time it felt like I was a good foot off the ground but I'm sure it was a lot less in reality! Wish I had a camera positioned after the hump!

You have convinced me to DIY and see how it looks. I'll sand it down, fill it and pick up some touch up paint from Honda. As mentioned, it will be significantly less noticeable once the black has been painted.

I'll post up some pics once complete.

Cheers and watch out for those blind crests!

I still think you should avoid touchup paint - they look crap on large sections painted with this method. I would use a spray can, masking off areas you don't want paint to get on. It is not too difficult especially if you are not after a perfect finish (although I have seen some great jobs done with a spray can).

Id go for a piece of white vinyl stuck over it too the first swage line, you wont notice that its not got a pearl on it being that low down and could probably be brought for less than a tenner.
