I'll sand it down, fill it.

I'll post up some pics once complete.

I still think you should avoid touchup paint - they look crap on large sections painted with this method. I would use a spray can, masking off areas you don't want paint to get on. It is not too difficult especially if you are not after a perfect finish (although I have seen some great jobs done with a spray can).
Agreed, I'll get a can of spray and try that first. I'll get some pics up when I'm done!!
cheers mate

Make sure you fill the scratches with filler then sand it not the other way round.

At the time it felt like I was a good foot off the ground but I'm sure it was a lot less in reality! Wish I had a camera positioned after the hump!

You have convinced me to DIY and see how it looks. I'll sand it down, fill it and pick up some touch up paint from Honda. As mentioned, it will be significantly less noticeable once the black has been painted.

I'll post up some pics once complete.

Cheers and watch out for those blind crests!

Get an areshole made up by your local part/paint factors. A few coats of clearcoat over that & a flat back will be a lot quicker.

Seeing that amount of damage on the chin & knowing that road for 20+ years I would say your very lucky! You lifted off and didn't finish in the scenery or a barrier, A82 is not a forgiving road for those more than familiar never mind the tourists! Also monitored fairly regularly by unmarked 2 & 4 wheeled police units. Your either a complete loon or extremely lucky - buy a lottery ticket!

Progress so far...
Sanded, filled, and sanded again.

I'll be doing a final fill / sand tomorrow then painting next weekend. Sanding it up to the ridge, as I'm hoping the angle will hide the blend.
Primer coat, Ground coat (platinum white), Base coat (pearl), then clear coat on top.

All well so far, a lot of work but it's rewarding and cost effective! any tips are appreciated.

Thanks,
Matthew

You seem to be doing well! Make sure you mask off areas you don't want overspray which includes the underside of the chassis, the black plastic of the grill etc as overspray will make someone think you had an accident in the worst case scenario.

but seriously, you don't want to get airbourne as you will have no control of the car especially if this is in a corner as it will mean only one thing - disaster

Personally, I'd have just took it to a reputable body repair specialist, and asked for a cash in hand job, done it twice now, bumper resprays on my old cars for £80, and the one car still looks fab today Other has had a ding already
