If you don't need a satnav thingy, then the origins are ideal. They'll also still be legal after some of the other "detectors" are outlawed as they use GPS.

Mine has saved me a couple of times when I've been in areas I don't know particularly well ...

Personally I think they are functionally great, but the build quality is rather suspect, and even with the extra magnets mine regularly loses connection with the cradle. Plus they really need hardwiring in.

If I had my time again I'd look at an all in one solution like the new road angel.

Having said that my wife has the TomTom with camera database and that seems perfectly adequate.

Tom Tom with Camera data base which is a free download if you don't use the Tom Tom site. got to http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/uksafetycameras.php
they have good price on Tom Tom and others as well
