Default Ouch!

Mrs Ready S2k had a big scare this morning - lost the backend on a roundabout in Reading.

The full force was taken by the passenger rear alloy and tyre - both well beyond repair IMHO. The AA man who came out said he couldn't detect any damage to anything else

Soooo - I'm assuming this is an insurance job? Honda are quoting

If you've hit the kerb hard enough to damage the alloy I'd suspect suspension damage. If not you've been really lucky but I'd take it to a dedicated suspension/tyre place and get them to check out the alignment etc...

And also make sure the spacesaver is not on the rear as it shags the differential.

ie put the spacesaver on the front, and the front on the rear if that makes any sense.

Make sure you have the spacesaver on the front axle.
Putting the space saver on the rear can apparently harm the LSD !

Bummer

Wasn't the Purley roundabout was it by any chance? That's a REALLY greasy bit of road at the best of times, let alone when it's been raining. It's the one I mentioned in the other thread where I had my first "moment"

As for getting her back in - it's gotta be done otherwise she'll be scared of RWD, roundabouts etc forever, let alone the S.

At the risk of being patronising, an explanation of RWD, wet roads and roundabouts might do it.

Purley Roundabout?

It was the roundabout on the A33 relief road by Rose Kiln Lane (near Currys, PCWorld, Hellfrauds etc).

Can't see how it happened really, although the surface was greasy...

We've decided to go the insurance route as it's
