paintwork stores
this summer (over the easter hols actually) i'm toying with the idea of removing some rust on the rear arch of my S.
aside from halfords, can anyone recommend products and a supplier for stuff like rust remover, rust preventer (POR-15 seems highly reguarded) etc.
bodyshops are wanting £500 area, but since this seems a reasonable ammount for the actual area that needs fixing (about 6" area), I'm inclined to give it a go myself.
i guess worst case is it looks a bit of a mess and i'll have to get the bodyshop todo it anyway. it cant look as bad as it does now!

I'm in the same boat, stone chips and scratches and rusty arches, looking at them I might need some welding!

I tried to sort one of my arches myself a month or so ago, at best it means I've gained a few months before I'll have to get it cut out by a body shop, it'll still need doing this year. IMHO, if the rust has really got into the metal then trying to repair it yourself will only delay the visit to the body shop, or hide it if you're planning on selling.
