I work with a guy who used to work for Glasses ..... he said the trade in prices they use are made up from all the trade in prices supplied by the major dealers so are an accurate reflection on what cars have been bought in at as trade in's.
He also said dealers don't like to say this so try saying CAP is what they base their prices on. This is because CAP is the auction price any set model has sold for .... which is somewhat different - and lower - than trade in values of decent low mileage cars , etc .
Dealers try to sell at glasses prices and buy at CAP prices ...... now there is a surprise !
