When the time comes to take S200 OPD of the car take along your existing V5 (and MOT if the car needs one) to your local DVLA office. Tell them you want to put the registration number on retention, pay them

Had a rear plate made up for S200X too see how "contrived" it is in real life.
I am decidedly impressed
Just need to get Mr L. to pass by with his plate "on the real thing"
