Thumbs up Playing MP3s in the S

Well I know I'll receive a flurry of replies telling me I'm tragic for not having an iPod but my MP3 player has to display raw Canon images as well! I would like to be able to plug it in to the current head unit though - is that possible?

I've got a MY04 S with the standard unit fitted so there's no "Aux" headphones socket. Is it a case of a new head unit or does some clever chap on here have an adaptor cable for the back of the unit? Either way I guess I'm looking for a solution that give me a headphones socket...

Cheers for any ideas,

Andy

You can buy an adapter that plugs in to the cd changer socket.
Not sure who makes it though.
Someone on here will know.

Maplins do one it converts the output to RF but unlike the radio sender units this one has an adaptor that plugs into the arial socket and the car arial plugs into that.
it takes a 12 v supply and needs to be hidden as its not designed for looks
I think they are

Hi,

I don't use a serparate mp3 player, but my car stereo can play DVDs full of MP3s. Although this isn't as big as an iPod, it stores 4.3 gig of music, which is about 1000 songs (a lot more than a multi-changer).

I don't know why they haven't really taken off though, I bought mine over a year ago, and since then, nobody I know has one, but everyone I show it to is amazed.

The one I've got is the Sony MEX-R1... http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_p...p?partno=MEXR1

I'm not sure I'd get this exact model again if I had the choice, as it's a bug sluggish starting up (sometime 30 seconds while it reads the disk details) but once it's up and running it sounds very good. I know JVC do one which plays WMA aswell.

Anyway, this might not answer your question, but it's another option.

No one on here will criticise you for choosing function over fashion.
