Default Please help for a replacement for the S!

As you might know I crashed my car in December. It was written off and I duly ordered a new S in Moonrock Silver due to arrive in March. However I am not convinced that this is the right choice for me. It is not because I don't like the S, in fact I loved every minute of it but my system is asking for a change. I can not even say that I was bored with the car. It was the first time ever in 14 years that I have not felt the need to change it while owning it. However I do keep feeling a need for change.

I am considering the following cars and would like your comments to help me decide. I know this is a S2K site but most of you out there are also car fanatics like me. So if you had to change what would you buy? My options and likes are below and my budeget is

I had to go for the RX8 as a choice - the others are too jaded with bad "images". Not from the cars themselves but from the people they attract and I wouldn't want to tarnished with the same brush.

Had to stay with Honda, so CTR.

Still get to vtec and is nearly as quick as the S but is practical to boot.

I'd consider the Z4 in it's 3.0 iteration, despite my reservations about its looks. But I suspect that it would ultimately be a toss up between the RX8 and the 350Z, and which one of those would depend on the test drive.

I'm not hugely keen on the looks of the 350Z - it's too bulky and lardy-looking for my taste. But I suspect I'd quite like the sound and torque offered by the 3.5 litre V6.

I like the styling of the RX8 - it's also practical and is very-competitvely priced. I don't necessarily subscribe to the school of thought that it is inevitably going to depreciate massively either. It may well do, but I don't think its a foregone conclusion.

I'd be seriously tempted by the VXT but I think the extreme lack of practicality is what would ultimately out the kibosh on that one for me, since it would be an only car.

My vote goes to the Mazda.

Mark,

this is freakishly similar to my thoughts on these cars but not necessarily on the ultimate choice which remains undecided still. You sure you are not my twin!???!!

If the car was for weekend/fun I would have selected the VX Turbo ..... but I have been told that it is completely impractical for every day use

I have therefore selected other as the only 2 cars that I would ever consider changing the S for would be a used NSX or 996.

I'd have to say 350Z for huge power and a great rumbling sound.
