Odd.
I'd have thought the RX8 would be winning hands down by now???

Listen to Jezza.
Go for the RX8.

Have a look at the VW R32 before they sell out, I've just bought one and can really rate it as a quality drive.

It genuinely feels like a 996 C4 with a bit less power!!

All the cars listed I like, but theres always something not quite right. The car I nearly bought before the S was the BMW Z3M coupe. The only reason why I got the S was because I couldn't get hold of one at the right price. (obviously I have seen the way now )

A little more expensive to run than the S, but its a damn animal!

VX220 Turbo ........

Will actually post an S to VXT review when the bloke from Vauxhall manages to shift his a*se into gear and picks a nice sunny weekend day for me to do my test drive. In fairness though, I will have access to a 2nd car and even if I do use it everyday then my round trip to work and back is about 7/8 miles

If I was going coupe then definately the 350Z. The RX8 is becoming really common already plus fuel consumption and oil consumption is not fantastic apparently although the Z must be fairly thirsty as well. The Z looks the business in the flesh and very competitively priced.

Rahula, you won't like the handling of the Z4 if you like the S. the handling was very poor in comparison even in their "sport" mode

EDIT * Tuneable and the performance and handling would put the rest of this lot to shame if you can live with the pure impracticality of the thing but then you have to see it for what it is.

If you want good residuals I suggest you delete the RX8 from your list. It will drop like a stone.

A three your old car of any description will not do nor an import only version which is something I don't want to get bogged down with. Buying second-hand would allow me to buy lots of other cars too but that is not my cup of tea.

Evo and Sti are no no for me. Reason is simple but will keep to myself just in case I offend someone.

VW32 is still a golf and just too many of those are around. The car must be something special too. Z3M was a great car when I drove one about 3 years ago. I could not or would not buy one today. Maybe a Z4M that would make me spend

Rahul, here's another one to throw into the mix just for the sake of discussion (although given the lack of storage space, I suspect it falls foul of the same practicality problem as the VXT) - what about the Clio V6?

The reviews of the new version which I've read have been almost universally full of praise for it. It's sporty, it's rare, it's quite good-looking (IMO) in a subtlely overstated way, it's supposed to be fun to drive - evo rated it third (I think) in their Car of The Year 2003.

Bought a clio for my other half a few years ago and never again Crap main delaers and HO. Rubbish car and no more French cars for me. Thanks for the suggestion though but stop putting forward names of cars which you want to own so that I buy one and you get a drive because you are my twin bro.
