Default On the ponce!

Just wondered if anyone locally had them, that I could ponce for an hour or two?

Me rear spline nuts are nearly knackered, & I find I am slightly under-equipeed to drop on the new ones.

Otherwise I'll far cough to Carspares with me Cr card.

I knew it wouldn't take long before someone asked for the loan of a suitable torque wrench

Had mine decades - in those days, cars fell apart all the time.

Then came the Japanese, who like to tighten nuts.

Which nuts are fooked Nick? How did you detect it? I ask because both my back wheels are ticking at rotation speed, and not convinced its a prob with my pads....

Sounds like it could be the CV joints or maybe the spindle nuts need redoing.

My understanding was that the spindle nuts should only click when you pull away from a stand still. Mark, if yours are clicking all the time, it's sounds more likely to be something else.

The nuts wouldnt cause this though - they may be the root cause, ie if they were slack they could have allowed some play in the wheel bearings and damged them. However, I took the wheels off and there is no play in them at all and it all looks good dont there. The noise does appear to be from the pad / disc area.... its like a light ticking noise.

I do get the creak / nut click when chagning direction from standstill though.

Nick, would it be cheaper to pop into Honda and ask nicely in their lunch break? My dealer has done a few little bits for me at no cost, they are good to me

And after Nick has finished with it, can I borrow it?

OR shall we do a "Tight Nuts Meet"
