Default Potential S2000 owner....

Hi there

I'm currently in the process of hopefully buying an S2000.

I've owned convertibles in the past and have to be honest and say i'm a bit of a comfort hound whilst still craving some serious performance. My husband has just imported an Integra Type R and i'm now seriously hooked on the idea of revving the nuts off a car. It's also RWD which is my preference!

From what I can see, the S2000 has a fantastic exterior coupled with a very comfortable looking interior (and an electric roof! ), however i've got a couple of questions prior to seeing the dealer for a test drive on Saturday.

Firstly, what year did they start doing heated seats - i'm obviously a bit soft but i'd love to have heated seats as they make it much nicer for driving round in the winter with the roof off? If they're only on very recent cars then is this something that can be easily retro fitted and just fit original Honda switch gear?

My colour preference is Moon Rock with Red/Black interior. Is there such a thing as a less desireable colour spec for an S2000 (my old car lost at least

I am sorry, I had one more question - are there any persistant faults with the S2000 I should be aware of. I've read the post detailing recalls but as an example, when I owned boxsters a large number of them suffered with RMS (Rear Main Seal). Although this was only a 10p seal out of alignment, it was a full gearbox out job which cost

Don't think there any any less desirable colour specs but obviously buying yellow or say imola orange will, IMO, limit the amount of the people who will buy it when you come to selling.. Thats not to say they are less desirable thou!! Moonrock defo a good colour but then again I like the Silverstone, hence why i've got one.. Plus my other car is black and its clean and shiney for about 10 mins..!!

Quite a few faults but most ironed out on later cars.

Biggest one one to be aware of is siezed buhes.

Nope, in the UK. Assume I can fix this in my profile?

The one thing i'm really hankering after is the heated seat option. It's apparently offered on MY07 cars which just isn't going to happen for me unfortunately!

Wonder if the wiring's already in place for it and it's just a matter of getting a sparky to finish the job?

Also noticed that one of your numbers has put the headrest speakers in his car as an upgrade!!

How quick does this bloody board move????

Much quicker than PCGB!

Sorted already!! Not sure about heated seats as mine is an early one but I'm not a fan of them anyway and the heater in the S2k is awesoime, espec on the roof down setting which blows hot air straight onto your legs!! I've had the roof down for nearly all of the 3500 miles i've done so far since Feb this year and never seem to get too cold!

Heated seats are for Boxster and Z4 drivers who always have their roof up anyway!!

2007 is a fine vintage ,but heated seats?! Unless I have missed something very major in the way of Honda options, heated seats ain't something you're gonna get! Sorry!

Colour combos..... I don't think you can go far wrong with whatever you get. Yellow and orange will always have prospective buyers places like here - and they do look good! Moonrock, red/black, however, is a fine combo.

And the seat headrest speakers do make a big difference compared to earlier cars that didn't have them. I too was initially hell bent on an audio upgrade. Three months in, I've done nowt about it. Enjoy listening to the screaming engine too much!

Good luck. Hope you enjoy the test drive. And do do do rev the nuts off it!
