The roof is getting REALLy creaky on the S (not the joints, the places where the fabric is stretched over the frame).

Is there an official Honda lubricant designed for metal/fabric. Any part number? One feels this is not a job for WD40

From the FAQ:

Grease the roof seals - Rub a thin film of Shin-Etsu Silicone grease (Honda Part number 08798-9013) onto the seals wherever they touch the convertible top or each other.

Looking at that thread (not trying to make my question less lame btw), it looks to be about joints.

I am 99.9% sure that my creaks are coming from where the fabric is stretched over the frame - and more specifically, the places where it is attached to the frame by the fabric wrapped around and stitched; not the joints.

Can I use the white lithium grease there - ie all over the frame (not just the joints)? Not sure you could do it without making one hell of a mess

Use a teflon spray on the hood fabric.

The grease would make a REAL mess.

Wots teflon spray then? Where do I get it? It lubricates fabric against metal?

Actually, I've just been checking for a source and a few of them say "don't use on rubber substrates". As the hood is vinyl I don't think it'll matter, but just in case I retract my previous recommendation.
(Wonder what's happening to the hood on my old car. )

TBH the silicon spray should be just as good. Just test an area for colour fastness.
