Problem with dealer in Leeds
Hi,
Having finally got my dealer to pricematch on S02 tyres I had 4 new tyres fitted yesterday. But when I collected the car they had fitted S03s!!! I queried this with them at the time but was "reliably informed" the S03s were identical to the S02s same tread pattern etc. I was sceptical but didnt argue on the spot, mostly because I was in hurry. Today I checked on the net and find they are very different tyres, different tread etc so I called to complain. After much debate he has agreed to refund my money but only if the 03s arent damaged in any way. Ive driven maybe 15 miles since yesterday so I dont expect them to be damaged, just usual wear and tear. If the dealer claims they are damaged, can I still say it is the dealers fault I drove away on them because they gave me incorrect information on the S03s and therefore not my reponsibility that the tyres were damaged ? I expect them to be in fine shape really [just 15 miles].
This is the Honda Dixons in whitehall road Leeds btw. They also did the 4 wheel alignment thing, but apparently not by computer so I couldnt have a printout???
Thanks for any thoughts, and yes I know I shouldnt have just taken their word for it, but they are meant to be the experts. And I wasnt thinking clearly enough.
Many thanks, Richard.

I think your argument sounds reasonable.
They should know that S03's are Different from EJS02's and make sure they are EJS02's not the plain S02's which are for Porsche 968
If you search for +Bridgestone +Tyres i bet you'll find more info on the differences. (also in the Tech FAQ)

Bits of string and a tape measure?????
Speak to Dan Turner at JAKAN - they use a different method to laser alignment, and they know what they are doing

Dixon usually rock, I had tyre issues with them too and they just replaced them with no issue
Its correct they don't do print outs, thats why I went to Sunside in Halifax, but that costs

Dixon's are now my prefered dealer.
I travel a long way to use them. Never had anything but good things to say about them.
1 example... I can't go into specifics but suffice to say, they did a lot of work for me FOC that other dealers would not.
And the car felt a lot better after they did the wheel alignment.

Dixons in Doncaster fitted the wrong type of SO2s to mine - I drove about 90 miles - then (thanks to this forum!) sussed that they were wrong. I called them - they called Bridgestone - and immediately ordered the correct SO2s and re-fitted the next day
Shouldn't be a problem!
good luck
