I Find that my charger keeps coming loose it the socket only enough to stop it charging

when i say loose its not actually loose i think its the metal bits on the side of the charger to tight and pulls it outwards

I had some problems with a a 12V connector extension cable being used with a 2.4V charger, but I have got everything working using an Aukey Quick Charge 2.0 and USB cable.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Note that you must use the yellow qc2.0 connector for the charging to work, charging does not work as well with the green connector.

This is with a Sony Z3/5 compact.

The other option would be to hard wire in a connector, as explained in this post in the FAQ (you'll need to scroll down a bit) https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/301...st__p__5798525

Thin crappy ones, or really long decent ones might not provide enough current to keep charging if you are using the phone.
I got one of those Aukey quick chargers and it's been working good in my car.
This. Some cables won't let you charge at higher than the USB standard 500ma. I understand that high speed charge cables have a couple of pins shorted to indicate to the device that it can draw more current.
Some progress...I tried a cable that was supplied with one of my Anker battery packs. When I used that cable I got a notification on the phone saying that a quick charger was connected. While the phone didn't actually charge quickly (1% every 5-10 mins), it did at least stop the phone discharging. I'll see if I can track down another cable which explicitly supports the Quick Charge standard.

If that's the case I don't fancy your chances driving at night with the headlights on!

Yep I'll have to say goodbye to the radio as well. Looks like I've got some quiet and spartan late night journeys ahead of me :0(

quote ...Interesting - which phone model are you having a problem with?

Samsung galaxy s4.

Might invest in lovegroova's option and see if it improves the charge/charge time.

Thanks.

you're trying to charge the battery while hammering it, it won't go up very quickly

It's OK I knew what you meant.

Incidentally I also considered the possibility that the battery wouldn't charge very effectively if it was hot. Attaching it to the air vent and turning on the A/C dispelled that as a possible cause of the prpblem.

I find that it charges quicker with the hood down.
