Default Problem putting Hard Top on

Hi all,
just seeing if anyone else has had any problems putting on their hardtop? Only had the car since Feb this year, and this is the first time I've tried to put it on, taking it off was a piece of cake! My wife and I struggled for about an hour with no luck. Passenger side latch just never seemed to get properly seated, massively frustrating. Roof always just slightly above the window/roof line, with everything else fitting well.
I'm thinking I might start trying to undo, or loosen the fitting kit, but not really sure if that would help. Don't suppose there's anyone around west london with any sort of experience with them?
Cheers,
Dan

On the proper stand and covered, all inside a garage, but now it's on the stand in my dining room
To be honest, when I tested the car, the old owner and myself took the roof off and had a tough time getting it back on again, same corner being the issue, but we managed it. Almost seemed to fit easily once we'd actually got it to go, but for the life of me I can't remember how, whether we did one corner first, the front first, or the back.

Had an identical issue when I bought mine brand new, except it was the driver side. I took the car to Honda and they were able to fix it. They told me I just did not have it seated correctly.

What I do when placing the top on the car with another person - I have them drop their rear pin in the hole first, since I have a better idea of where mine needs to go. Once their rear pin is in on their side, I drop mine in and then we both latch the front. Sometimes I have to push down on my side because it isn't lined up perfectly, but it takes me no effort/pressure to push it down and then it just falls into place and I can latch it.

Hope this helps.

That certainly does help, it's encouraging to know you got yours fixed. I'm ever so slightly concerned that the top maybe slightly warped in some way, but I'll try a trip to Honda, or a decent garage, see if they can help. Fingers crossed that it's just the fitting kit that needs a little adjusting

Silly question if it's the passenger side, your not getting the heated screen wire trapped are you?

Not a silly question, but nope, definitely not getting the wire trapped, made sure that was well out of the way

The hard-top on my previous S2000 was more difficult to fit than my present one.
This one just drops into place and sits at the perfect 8mm gap at the sides and 14mm when not latched.

The 'old one' needed the N/S dropping into the receiver, then the driver's side required a bit of force to get the pin into place.
I took this to be due to a bit of distortion on the H/T. The pin centres were a few mm wider than the receiver holes.

Try dropping one side into the hole (don't latch), the check with a finger where the other pin is in relation to the hole.
Make sure everyone is clear before putting your finger into any hole though. You know it makes sense

You can adjust the catches for the pins to make it easier to get on/off. If you remove all the side trim you should be able to see where the fitting mechanisms are located. They are bolted on but the holes on the bracket allow for adjustment - try loosening the side that's causing the trouble, should move enough for you to get it locked in then get the front catcher done, tighten up the bolts on the bracket then try taking it off and on again and see if solves your problem
