Default Problem with the S

Can anyone throw any light on my problem? If i am waiting in a line of traffic for a while, when i pull away the car KANGEROOS like crazy. It only stops if i rev the engine.Took it to the STEALERS and they found nothing, suggested plugs, fuel lines, and suggested i had an early service!! The car is an 03 with 16K on the clock.Any suggestions?

Totally standard on all S's, its a heat build up in the air flow, from sitting still, best way round it is give the accelerator a wee jab as the small burst of revs clears it, before you move off, I know the feeling, it always happens when theres a decent bird within 10ft A quick rev, before you let the clutch out, usually solves the problem, The ROO effect!!! All part of the course

You can replace the air intake, or add a snorkel to help eradicate this problem

LOL, too true.

Experienced this on my first day of S2000 ownership, driving it home. Usual Saturday traffic on the high street, loads of people around and the thing starts bunny-hopping when I grab first as the traffic starts crawling. Knew about the issue but didn't expect the driveline lash to be as bad. Managed to also hit the headlight washer button with my elbow in the process and squirted this chick walking past

If you develop a violent kangerooing after warm engine start ups prepare to have nightmares though................

I have K&N filter and a spoon carbon snorkle and still get bad roo'ing. I expect you'd have to insulate the airbox with a heat reflective material to prevent it.

Ditto to saxo boy, I fitted a K&N Gen II this weekend and thought the problem was dead... its MASSIVELY improved but not dead, I realised this today and I was just taking too many liberties, im looking to insulate the heat shield next

Squirting chicks is fun

ROFL at your story though Both 'the roo' problem AND the headlight washer problem happened to me in my first week, the first infront of a bustop outside uni with a bunch of hot girls and the latter on a date with one of those uni girls when I leant over to kiss her... I piss myself laughing about it now

Back on topic: anyone know where I can get me some heat reflective sheets to cover the K&N's heatshield with?

Cheers
