Default Problems With New Car

I bought a new S2K 6 days ago. The trouble is that the carpet in front of the drivers seat (the bit thats raised over a sort of crossmember) has started to come away from the floor.

My question is, should I just glue it down which will take about 2 minutes or go to my local Honda dealer, who will no doubt want the car to be booked in etc etc.

Apart from this in 6 days I have driven 1125 miles, run the car in, spent a fortune in petrol, been complimented by everyone and his dog, burnt my forehead and had the time of my life.

Well done Honda for producing a fantastic car.

Hi JLR, this is a new car so get Honda to sort it for you. If they want the car in for any length of time demand a decent courtesey car - CTR, or another S.

Glad you're enjoying it, you've picked a great week. I bought mine in November, so now the suns out it's like having a new car all over again

You know, around that area, there's a cut out for where the floor mat post would fit. Is that what's coming away?

The problem you mention about the carpet is made worse by the fact the alarm is mounted under the carpet in this area , ( at least it is on mine ).

Did you have OE mats fitted along with the locating peg ? The dealer ended up replacing my carpet after cocking it up time and time again.
Take it back to them , personally I wouldnt let them glue it to the chassis , it just isnt right .

Mine looks like its cut to allow the peg fittings to hide under the carpet - I would just stick it down with some glue if you are worried about it. I wouldn't want to fix it permanently in case you need to remove the pegs (to fit Muz mats, or to replace the pegs - one of mine is bent), so maybe a weak glue is appropriate.

JLR

I would stick it down yourself (if its Lookers Derby). If its Nottingham then they are good with S2's
