Default problems with roof

This probably belongs in the FS/Wanted on the GB thread but thought that more of those who had their roof fitted by monsoon might read it here.

Overall I'm really happy with the roof, seems good quality. A couple of small points:

1. where the roof bars are the mohair seems to be smoothing on the outside of the roof. it shows up with a light patch at the join. I'm just putting this down to wearing in.
2. Seems to be quite a large gap between the roof and windcreen bar when closing. this gap is getting smaller the more it is used so I'm hoping it will stretch a little.
3. Rear screen demist isnt working. I've checked the connections on the screen itself and they seem intact, the cable then disappears into the roof to who knows where. I will contact monsoon when I'm back in the UK next week but anyone know where else there are connectors that I should check. could really do without another trip to the supplier.

Thanks
Andy

ps - why am I now a guest ?? have I forgot to renew something ???????

Sorry to hear you're having problems...Monsoon will put right any niggles you have.

You may need to grease your frame joints. A new hood will be tighter than an old floppy one and therefore require less effort to close it.

Not sure about the other two, but Monsoon will help you over the phone if it's better for you.

You probably need to re-subscribe to S2Ki to become a member again.

1. the same for me
2. same for me as well. I find that it's easier to close the passenger side clip first whilst pulling down on the centre handle, then the driver's side is easy.
3. Haven't used it yet.

thanks
glad I'm not the only one with teething probs. I never expected this to be as perfect as when it was a new OEM roof but will see what Monsoon can do.
Groova - am doing the same with mine, pull handle and lock passenger side then drivers side works fine. Seems easier each time though so hopefully will be fine in a few weeks once the fabric has stretched into the right place.

My 09 car had the same thing with it's roof. Do up one side, then the other.
It will get easier each time.

Number 1 is happening to me too! It looks like given time it will wear through.
Might be worth mentioning to Monsoon that it's happening to all of us.

I've just figured out that I've been trying to close the roof incorrectly.

With the old roof, I had to pull it forward and down to close it, with the new, it closes if I simply pull down on it. HTH.

Here's the wear on mine. You can see where the roof rubs when it is down.
