The GTM cars are FWD so never really entered into it - although from what I understand they're one of the best kit manufacturers around, and they sell full kits which don't need so much work doing - I'm going to have to learn a few new skills if I'm going to finish the Fury...

I've looked at allsorts. One of the cars I've always liked is the Ginetta, but Fisher sportscars were so helpful when I called them (bought the chassis and bits third party, from a guy who got promoted at work and won't have the time to put it all together - but since he's collected and reconditioned everything, it saves me the time trawling scrappies) I was persuaded to go their way instantly. I spoke to Mark Fisher and he immediately offered to put me in touch with other builders and offered any help the factory could give - they also do a service where they chack the car over before the SVA for free. The guy is a car builder first, and a businessman second.

When I raced with the 750MC a lot of the bike engined cars were Furys and I've always liked the shape, kind of retro but also quite compact. The original plan was to go bike power myself, but I want a road car as well as a track car, and bike engined stuff is a pain in traffic. Plus nothing beats the sound of a V8

I was also impressed with the build quality of the chassis and the fact that they provide extra bracing and modify the chassis for the V8 so it's still possible to get 50:50 weight distribution with the T5 box.

I'm under no illusions this is a major project - but I'm in no rush and intend to finish the car to a high standard, I have 95% of the bits I need and have only spent
