Went camping at the weekend. So, we had tent, carrymats/thermarests, sleeping bags, and clothes for a bank holiday weekend.

If we'd bothered packing the sleeping bags in their compression sacks, we'd have been able to easily get all our cooking gear in as well.

And that's without removing the toolkit polystyrene, stuffing the spare wheel or using any capacity in the main cabin.

So I reckon we could get a fortnight's worth of camping gear in without too much trouble.

I second Nick on the ironing issue - bad for a coolbox, but excellent for a toasty warm sleeping bag.

Thx for that. How many of you travel with the spare?
Noticed son's Elise has no spare - just a pressure can.

Setright from Autocar did a piece on the S2000 and basically said that the S2k was not that impractical.

He said he packed fresh clothes for a week for himself and his wife (eating out attire included / disposed of tonneau) and despite being 6'2" didn't notice any excessive wind disturbing his whiskers at 120mph.

He could either tootle along in 6th or leather it - he was quite chuffed with the overall experience.

if you don't care what your clothes look like on arrival, get one of those large zip-lock plastic bags - bung all the clothes in and then suck out the air was a vac, a ton of clothes end up being as flat as a pizza - it's ridiculous how small they go

Yeah the article by Setright was very praising of the car, he even hoped the S in S2000 stood for Setright, its quite an old article, I think I still have it if you can't find it I will try and dig it out, trouble is its at work and I am now on holiday for a fortnight, so it won't happen soon

The person you need to ask about luggage space is BSM 139 !!!!
At the Rutland meet he had the entire world, the moon, stars and constellations in his boot !!!
He took it all out I remember to show us his cd changer which sat at the bottom!!
