Default Radar detector

I need to get the girl friend a radar detector of some sorts as she cant stop getting points!

It needs to be a detector "Only" (not Jammer or have Navigation incorporated) and be legal with current and any new legislation they are about to bring in.

One that will detect "All" possible enemies if there is such a thing?

I know its been discussed before but the advanced search is off so I cant find anything in the UK forum

Can't advise on a suitable product, but this might be of interest to you:

That's primarily a GPS-based detector. Nigel wants recommendations for a radar detector. (Does Origin even supply the radar detector head for the B2 yet?)

I've got a Valentine One radar/laser detector and it does the job you want. It was generally considered to be the market leader when I bought it a couple of years back. I'm not sure whether there's anything out there which has superseded it since. Probably

Nigel - Radar detectors do not get every camera - there are many others these days which do not use radar.

you'd be better off with a GPS based device which runs using a database of all camera locations.

2 come to mind:

Origin b2 (most excellent and db kept very well up to date)
Road Angel (improved from what they used to be - not sure about the db these days)

Re: your comment of future legality, stick to GPS and whatever you chose, if it comes with a radar or laser detector you would be advised to make sure it is removable as is the case with the B2's laser detector.

All thanks to the Road Safety Bill which is currently with the Lords when they get back.

Not sure as it is not a Bill I follow regularly but is due for its Third Reading on 10th Jan 2006 and presumably back to the Commons after that.

Ah you recognise her then, she must have sped past you too!

It is beginning to look like a GPS based one is a "safer" thing to have because of its updates.
Is there one out there that comes as a complete package i.e not having to buy add on's etc.

Anything that is good in spotting the "Van" enemy? as these are the ones that keep getting her.
