Default Radio Code

Hello.

I have just had my battery replaced as the old one was dead, so now my radio is asking for the code. The only problem is I can’ find it :S

I rang my local dealers and they said that they do not have/access to codes for cars that was not purchased from them ,and they would have to reset the radio. the question is . Is that true?

P.s. I can’t ring the original dealer as they have gone bust.

Check the inside front cover of the service book as it may be noted there.

My radio code is on a label attached to the inside page of the Service Book.

All of the details on this page should have been entered by the original vending dealer, before handing the vehicle over the the purchaser.

Have you had a look there?

If you can't find the code Honda will charge £60 for the pleasure of resetting it, try a car audio place they must be cheaper than honda a good one will be able to identify the actual make of the radio.

Complete tosh...

All that is needed is the serial number and chassis number. To get the serial number, turn the set off then hold down presets 1 & 6 as you turn the set back on. An eight digit number will appear starting with either a 1 or 3. Either contact your local dealer and give them this info or give me a call on 0121 744 7744

Cheers

Jody

Thanks, but yes I have looked in the service book. there is a place for it, however it is not filled in. :S. I have also phoned my local deailer and they said that it needs resetting.

Maybe time to upgrade the radio. any thoughts? model etc?. as long as it has Ipod capability and works with the controls.

Have a search, there's been quite a few "new radio/stereo threads" of late.

No resetting is needed - just need the serial number as per my previous post if you want the standard wireless working..

They charged me a tenner when I bought my car 3 years ago.
