RaggTopp Supplier UK

I cleaned, scrubbed and dried the soft top first, then followed the instructions, then stood back and admired as it looked really good. Here are some pics of the bottle, you can see it clearly states suitable for Vinyl on the back and on the front it says no 'oily residue'. I have also included a couple of pics of the car.

I don't believe it was a counterfeit however I will be contacting the supplier and have already emailed the manufacturer (no response yet) to try and get to the bottom of it. I was conscious of over spray and applying too much so I sprayed it on a waxing sponge first and had to work reasonable hard to get the top looking completely wet. I think buffered with a mircofibre cloth as I went then again several times at the end. As you can see from the dodgy picture the water is beading and running off the car well but it seems to be taking the residue with it.

Just spoken to the supplier (BIG SHOP), they deal with the main UK distributor for this kind of product and have assured me this distributor would NOT deal in counterfeit items. They were really helpful and said they would take this further to try and get to the bottom of it. Very weird

I did mine last weekend and it is OK too with no residue. I applied with a cloth and then wiped dry with another microfibre towel. The instructions say to apply and wipe dry immediately as it doesn't air dry, so no point in leaving it for a couple of hours.

IIRC, that's for fabric roofs not vinyl (the bottle with purple label?). They do a vinyl & rubber protectant too, which is probably more suitable (yellow label).

My word did I dry it properly. Was paranoid about residue so wiped and buffed like a man possessed. Interesting that the manufacturer hasn't responded. I would like an explanation... Do I have the wrong product. Is there a faulty batch? Is this to be expected (I doubt it). How long will this continue...

Ragtopp was my protector of choice when i had a vinyl top. Excellent results. But the fabric version is much more expensive so i tried fabsil gold and was very pleased with that. The fabsil cleaner is also excellent, particularly if you get a bit of an algae build up over winter.
